Whatever age your child is be assured that he or she will find a warm and loving environment here at First Presbyterian Church. We know that faith development is a lifelong journey and in our Children’s Ministry we hope to plant and nurture the seeds of faith. Our first priority for our children is safety, followed by fun spiritual growth, and fellowship, as well as service to our community! Our Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and all other programs are designed with age-appropriate activities for all. We seek to make disciples of all children through meaningful and relevant teaching and exciting fellowship opportunities! So join us on Sunday mornings for The LAKE Sunday School or on Wednesday evenings for The Raft. Your children are assured to have a blast and grow in faith!
Our Children’s Ministry Team has the vision that “As followers of Jesus Christ, we invite children into relationships in an environment where they become excited about their faith, grow spiritually, and go out as disciples.” In order to live out that vision we have developed a whole new opportunity for kids and their adult leaders to grow in faith on Sundays! The LAKE (L.ife’s A.dventures in the K.ingdom E.ternal!) will be filled with new activities in specially designed rooms.
Our 9:45 Sunday School uses the One-Room Curriculum, with activities designed for all ages! We’re using the Godprints curriculum we for our 11:00 Sunday School, which is full of great fun for our kids! |
Children's Sunday School
+ The Lake Children’s Sunday School (3 Year Olds – 4h Grade) Drop off in far hall by the PDS office – 9:45 AND 11
We use a fun & interesting new curriculum for our children’s classes! At 9:45 we are using the terrific Godprints curriculum, where teachers weave the Bible stories into the lives of the children in creative ways! We will have a Preschool Class (ages 3 – Kindergarten) meeting in Room 100 and an Elementary Class (Grades 1-4) meeting in Room 102. At 11:00 we are using the new Buzz curriculum, designed to keep the kids excited about God’s word! We will have a Preschool Class (ages 3-Kindergarten) meeting in Room 100, a 1st & 2nd Grade Class meeting in Room 102, and a 3rd & 4th Grade class meeting in Room 103. Join us this Sunday!
+Club 56 5th & 6th Grade Sunday School – Room 203 – 9:45 AND 11
We’re continuing an exciting class for our 5th & 6th graders to better meet their age level needs. We’ll offer this more youth-oriented experience at 9:45 and 11:00. At 9:45 they will be using the Godprints curriculum and at 11 they are using the Buzz – Amazing Grace. Join us!
Children's Choir
We have choir opportunities for all ages! We will learn our songs during the last part of the 9:45 Sunday School time from 10:45 - 11:00 a.m. about four weeks prior to the kids singing. The kids will sing periodically throughout the year during the 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. worship services.
The Raft!
Join us on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:00 – 7:30 for dinner and a great time of fellowship! For ages 3 years - 4th grade, this fun and educational faith building program for kids will have activities like music, games, crafts, and Bible studies for the little ones. Outside playtime may be included, as well. Bring your kids! They’ll love it! We have small groups for all ages on Wednesday evenings, as well, so come and bring the whole family!
