About Us

First Presbyterian Church is for  people like you, a congregation from all walks of life. Young,  old, and those in-between are a part of this community of believers.  We strive for a deeper relationship with our Lord and with one another through worship, fellowship, education and service.  Opportunities abound for you to become involved in the life of this congregation.  On September 2, 2001, the first services were held in the new church building.  The 30,000-square-foot facility had been planned for five years.   A ground-breaking ceremony was held on Father's Day in June, 2000.  Stained glass windows, dating back to 1939, were removed from the previous site on San Jacinto Street, Conroe, and installed in the present structure, incorporating the old with the new.  Entry to the First Presbyterian Day School, founded in 1972, is west of the church entrance.

Our Church Family

Upon entering the church, you will find a  congregation, totaling about 800, ready to welcome you into the family. The church is large enough to have a wide range of activities, yet small enough to know one another by first name. Worship is a focal point of the week as we gather together for praise at the two Sunday morning services. Our highly talented choirs provide uplifting music. A well-staffed nursery is provided during the services and for church school.   Pictured are children & a volunteer at Vacation Bible School.

Our Opportunities

At First Presbyterian Church each person is special.  We recognize that each individual is special. We strive to offer opportunities that allow the person to have their needs and wants met. You have God-given talents that can be put to good use in our congregation. We want to encourage you in your endeavors, pray with you in your struggles and rejoice with you in your accomplishments. We care. If you are not a member of our congregation we wish you would consider becoming a part of our church family.

Our Activities

The church stresses opportunities for learning through church school for all ages, Bible study and  other special events. Activities are also planned for groups. Groups include Presbyterian Women, Men's Night Out, Supper Clubs, Small Groups,  Youth Ministry, Cancer Resource Team, Stretching Body & Soul (exercise & meditation), to name a few. The church is also mission oriented as it reaches out to the world beyond. You'll find our members participating in elementary school tutoring, Habitat for Humanity, Montgomery County Interfaith Hospitality Network, Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels and many other programs.  Featured photo was taken on Jr. High Mission trip to Florida.
